Executive Director
Catherine Swinsky
Class of 2020, Biology
In this position I oversee our executive board to be sure our operations are running smoothly.
Elwood’s Cabinet is important to me because students shouldn’t have to worry about where they are going to get their next meal. We all have to balance our school work, extracurriculars, and social life, and providing food and hygiene products for students can help alleviate the stresses of college.

Director of Donations
Payten Bovat
My role in Elwood’s Cabinet is to network with organizations and coordinate donations.
Elwood’s Cabinet is important to me because it brings awareness to a reality that many students face but that is so rarely acknowledged. Providing students with support in a way that preserves dignity and brings awareness to a sensitive situation is incredibly humbling to be a part of and captures the true essence of the community on this campus. Longwood strives to create citizen leaders of its students and I think the creation of Elwood’s Cabinet exhibits just that.

Volunteer Coordinator
Alexa Lavinka
Class of 2020, Liberal Studies - Elementary Education, minor in psychology
I schedule and ensure that we have volunteers when the cabinet is open.
Elwood’s Cabinet is important to me because it helps students have the opportunity to focus more on their school work and less on finding their next meal. Everyone should be giving these opportunities to be successful and this is one way I can help others in my Longwood community.

Director of Finance
Jeffery Wilkinson
Class of 2020, Finance
At Elwood’s Cabinet, I serve as the Director of Finance. Since I am a finance major at Longwood University, getting real world experience for my future job is a big plus for me. I look over the business side of a very heartfelt organization.
Assisting students outside of the classroom is a big plus for the town of farmville and the Longwood students that attend. I know that Justin Hicks has said before that a casserole goes a long way and Elwood’s Cabinet is serving as a big casserole for Longwood students. Of my background and financial struggles, I know what it's like to be hungry in college, miles away from home, and trying to balance academics at the same time. It's been a pleasure to spread the word of Elwood’s Cabinet and to serve on the board as well as to assist students coming in on Monday's.

Emily Bowie

I am in charge of the cabinets email and other odds and ins that need to be taken care of.
Elwood’s cabinet is important to me because it gives students things that they need. It also is an eye opening experience to see what simple things that students don’t have access too.

SGA Representative
Brandon Bowen
Class of 2021, Communication Studies
I relay information to and from the Cabinet to the Student Government Association in order to have the best accommodations for students in need.
Elwood’s Cabinet is one of the most important things that Longwood students could have. Money is tight in college and food should not be a worry when trying to further one’s education.

Wesley Representative
Coleman Behne
Class of 2020, Environmental Science
I voice Wesley's interests to the board.
There is a clear need for availability of free food for students who can't afford food along with the other expenses of college and I'm glad Elwoods Cabinet can be that.
